What will people walk out of a Strong Spine session with?
Knowledge – of where their risks really lie and how to approach the work in a smarter way that lowers this risk.
Skill – In how to move better, in a way that preserves the spine and some insight into the most valuable machine they’ll ever operate, where it might be tight, where it might be weak and what the right exercises are to fix this.
Will – The realization that it’s not that hard and doesn’t take the iron discipline of a pro-athlete to do things right. Just a few minutes a day of the right exercises and being a bit smarter in how you move.
How do we achieve this? The Strong Spine System is the result of over twenty years of continual refinement in the teaching of workplace biomechanics – it’s broken down into.
Movement Learning
All of the key lessons are taught through physical movement – theory is minimal. We believe that if you want your crew to learn anatomy, then teach them anatomy. If you want them to learn to move more safely, then teach them how to move.
Specificity
Everything in the program, from lesson content, to booklets and posters, is specific to the job. The application of the teaching is direct and clear.
Play
What? In manual handling training? – You bet. When in a state of play, people are less likely to defend old ideas and more likely to entertain new ones. The core of the strong spine system is a series of skill progressions that, while engaging and fun, are powerful learning tools.
